Zones - Device Settings

The Zones tab allows users to configure and monitor operational flight boundaries for the selected dock device. It provides a centralized view of assigned geofences, organization-level No Fly Zones.

Zones Window

What you can manage

  • Geofence — the boundary within which the drone is permitted to fly.

  • No-Fly Zones (NFZs) — areas the drone must avoid. The Zones tab tracks how many NFZs are synced to the device and how many are still unsynced.

  • Maximum limits — set the maximum altitude and maximum distance the drone may travel from the dock.

Geofence

The configured geofence for the selected device is displayed in the Zones view. The geofence defines the operational flight area within which the drone is permitted to operate. Compatibility status and last modified details for the assigned geofence are also displayed.

Geofence boundaries are represented in green.

No Fly Zones (NFZs)

The map displays all synchronized NFZs within the drone’s operational range. These restricted zones are considered during mission execution to ensure safe and compliant operations. The section also displays the total number of synced and unsynced NFZs for the device.

No Fly Zones (NFZs) are represented in red.

Maximum Limits

Users can configure operational safety limits directly from the Zones tab:

  • Maximum Altitude Limit (RTL): Defines the maximum altitude the drone can reach during operations.

  • Maximum Distance Limit (RTL): Defines the maximum allowable distance the drone can travel from the takeoff point.

These limits help enforce operational constraints and Return-to-Launch (RTL) safety behavior.

Zone Synchronization

The Sync Devices option allows users to synchronize the latest geofence and NFZ configurations with the selected device. The current sync status and last sync timestamp are also displayed.

Map View

The interactive map provides a visual overview of:

  • Assigned geofence boundaries

  • No Fly Zones (NFZs)

  • Unsynced zones

  • Maximum operational distance limits

  • Device location

Map View

The drone takes the organization-wide NFZs into account for its flying range. Keep zones synced after any change to ensure the dock enforces the correct airspace.
