Thermal

Configure thermal camera preferences and temperature-based alerts for drones equipped with a thermal payload (for example, the M4TD).

Temperature breach alert

When enabled, the drone captures images whenever the detected temperature falls outside the safe range you define. After the flight completes, you receive an email summarizing the breach events with attached imagery.

To receive email notifications for these events, you must set up the corresponding workflow under Flows.

How to configure:

  1. Go to Settings → Thermal.

  2. Toggle Temperature breach alert on.

  3. Define the Safe temperature range (see below).

  4. Open Flows from the link in the description and automate the email notification workflow.

Temperature mode

Sets the thermal sensor's gain mode. Each mode has a different temperature range and sensitivity profile — choose the one that matches your use case.

Mode
Best for

Low gain mode

Wider temperature range, lower sensitivity. Use for industrial inspections, fire detection, or any scene with high-temperature targets.

High gain mode

Narrower range, higher sensitivity. Use for human/animal detection, search and rescue, or scenes with subtle temperature differences.

How to configure:

  1. Go to Settings → Thermal.

  2. Select a mode from the Temperature mode dropdown.

  3. Click Save.

Safe temperature range

Defines the minimum and maximum acceptable temperatures (in °C) for the thermal feed. When the detected temperature goes outside this range during a flight, the drone automatically captures images of the breach.

How to configure:

  1. Go to Settings → Thermal.

  2. Adjust the slider or enter values directly in the min (°C) and max (°C) fields.

  3. Click Save.

The full sensor range typically spans 0 °C to 500 °C. Set tight bounds (for example, -5 °C to 40 °C) when monitoring ambient conditions, or wider bounds for high-heat inspections.
